Need discipleship

Jesus said, “Go make Disciples ……” not merely Church goers. India has the largest population of the world’s unreached people groups or those who have never heard about Christ.  More than 40% for the world’s unreached people groups currently live in India.  With statistics like that most mission agencies and local churches are highly focused on evangelism.  The truth is the church is growing in number at exponential rates even in light of dire persecution.  While on the ground we found that although we are spending a lot of efforts on spreading the gospel of Christ we are not investing in the process of intentional discipleship.  Christ himself invested in the growth of his disciples over a period of years.  Learning a new way of life submitted to Christ is a process that leads to a life of transformation allowing our words to be aligned with our actions.

Need resources

Pastor Moses of Thopucherla, a rural pastor says, “I want to disciple my people, but I don’t have any resources to teach and groom our children, youth, men and women.”  This is the cry both in the urban and the rural.  There is a great need for resources for Children’s ministry, Youth ministry, couples counseling, parenting, godly living for men and women, and seniors ministry.

Junia, a graduate from US wanting to teach Sunday School in her Church at Secunderabad, is frustrated not finding teaching material in the twin cities.  Prince, who studied and worked in England comes back to India and has a passion to help young adults grow, but does not find libraries that provide resources specific to youth.

The disciple

The primary aim of The Disciple is,

  • Be an avenue for renewal in the church.
  • Give tools for Spiritual Formation
  • Make resources accessible for all that want to grow as Disciples of Christ.
  • Train disciples who make disciples
  • Empowering disciples to live life of love, peace and mercy.
  • Support & Equip Pastors in leadership and discipleship.

Our Goal

Empower people to Love God with their our minds, hearts and strength, and provide opportunities to be a loving neighbor as exemplified by Christ.

We believe that Transformation is the key to a dying and weary world weighed down by injustice and apathy.  The work of Christ in restoring the lives of his followers to wholeness, replacing hearts of stone with hearts of flesh filled with compassion and passion makes possible the changes that are needed.  The pursuit of God through the understanding of scripture and the work of the Holy Spirit is for every disciple.

We believe

  • God loves all people
  • God is personal and relates with people
  • God speaks to us in Prayer, through Scripture, his followers and his world.
  • God came in human flesh to save humanity from sin and death.
  • God sent us his Spirit to empower us.

We work with Urban and Rural Pastors and Church Leaders via Discipleship Conferences.  We walk with Pastors to cast a vision for Discipleship for their Church. We will help Churches assess their strengths and areas of growth needed   The study of Scripture, the foundation and framework of our faith, is made available through courses and library resources.  Spiritual disciplines and practical ministry tools are taught for the strengthening of faith and testimony.  A center for retreat is made accessible for those who are seeking to deepen their relationship with God by spending time through guided and personal contemplative or meditative exercises.

Our prayer and hope is that through the sharing of resources within the community of believers the Church will be strengthened and supported as it grows towards its full potential.  As the Hands and Feet of our Lord, we look forward to the promise that Christ gives his disciples: “Very truly I tell you, whoever believes in me will do the works I have been doing, and they will do even greater things than these, because I am going to the Father.” John 14:12.  These things are possible when we submit to the words of Jesus, “Remain in me, as I also remain in you. No branch can bear fruit by itself; it must remain in the vine. Neither can you bear fruit unless you remain in me.” John 15:4

Disciple, center for renewal: let us be Disciples and make Disciples of Christ through the power of His Holy Spirit, “that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven.
